Lust and Love

Christian Brown

Lust is just smoke,
Love is a fire.
Lust wants and needs to fill it’s desires.
Lust is a weed
And Love is a tree.
Love wants to give, yearns not to receive

Lust is a coward
Love fears no pains
Lust has to fear but Love just remains.

Lust cannot quench
Love won’t run dry
Lust only taints Loves endless supply

There’s nothing to lose with Lust,
But everything to fear
There’s the world at risk with Love
But how could you hold dear

The things of which you can’t be rid,
Yet never satisfy,
The quiet, empty, vainful bid
I tell you, it’s a lie.

We seek for Love and do not know
Exactly for what we thirst
Tired and weary of the search
We settle for Lust first

Lust is always punctual
Love is never too late
Lust breaks down your door,
Love outside, will wait.

Lust is definite
Love is infinite
Lust is definable and easy to see
Love is most potent when behind the scenes

So discern my friends,
What’s good and what’s fast
Love will endure,
And Lust will not last
